Our Michael Phelps

We signed Andrew up for swim lessons and he had his first one on Tuesday. He loved every minute of it. We took him under the water and he did not mind it at all. I think he is going to be a swimmer =) The only complaint we had was the songs the instructor was having the parents sing =)

Look at the Fish we caught

We celebrated Andrew's first Halloween last night. He was so darn cute. He was Nemo the clown fish and he did not mind his outfit at all. He was really good about putting the hat on and everything. I sort of felt bad for the little guy, but it was to cute so I had to torture him some =) Here are a few pictures from the evening. The group picture is of all the neighborhood kids dressed up. They were having so much fun.

Andrew is officially on the move

Andrew has mastered the art of crawling and has really been on the move. He is currently also pulling himself up on everything and prefers to stand then to sit or crawl. I am hoping this does not mean he will be walking soon. He loves looking at himself in the mirror on his exersaucer. For the past few weeks we have had a visitor from Holland. My friend from college Clifton came to visit us for a month. Andrew and him have had a blast and we will be sad when he leaves here in a few weeks.

Andrew shows off for the camera

On Friday of this past week we had some professional pictures taken of Andrew. My very good friend Shannon is going into photography and I thought I would give her some business =) She took amazing pictures of Andrew. I have posted a couple of my favorite shots.

We traveled to Dayton on Friday night and hung out with my family. We had a great time and Andrew got to show off how he is crawling. He likes the wood floors and will crawl on them but once he hits the carpet it is back to inch worming =)

We celebrated Jason's parents 40th wedding anniversary on Saturday. Heather, Kreg, Dick, Linda, Jason and I all went to Carlos and Johnny's in Cincinnati. The food was amazing and the company was even better. We had a great time and could not have asked for a better night.

Andrew spends the weekend with his Aunt Becky

Jason and I went to a wedding this weekend in Traverse City, MI. It was so much fun, but I really missed my little man. Andrew got to spend the weekend with his Aunt Becky and he seemed to not mind that we were gone. He really liked the groomsmen gift bag as he played with it for hours once we got home.

He is an eating machine and we have not come across anything that he has not really liked. He has mastered the art of inch worming and hopefully soon will really be crawling. He keeps getting up on all fours and then straightening his legs to get on his tippy toes and then goes back to his knees. I think it is only a matter of time before he starts crawling on all fours instead of the inch worm. I am hoping to get a video up soon.

Visit to Pennsylvania

On Friday Becky, Andrew, and I traveled to Glenshaw, PA to visit with family. We had a really great time. Erica made an amazing lasagna for us Friday night and hosted a cookout on Saturday. Andrew had a great time playing with Chris, but he really loved Erica as she was the only one he spit up on =) We look forward to them coming to visit in October.

My Aunt Becca comes to visit

On July 15th my sister came to visit. She got to watch Andrew while Jason and I both worked. Andrew and her had a great time and he really enjoys his aunt. I think sometimes he gets us confused and is not sure who is who. It is pretty entertaining to watch him look at her and then me and then her. Here are some pictures from her visit.

Welcome to the Knackstedt family blog. I thought this might be easier to keep up with then the baby site and so far it has been very user friendly. I can not believe Andrew is 5 months and a couple weeks (24 weeks to be exact). Time has flown by and our son has experienced many new things. He has been to a Blue jackets game, a Crew game, a Clippers Game, Dayton Dragons game, to the Zoo and many cookouts =)

Andrew is changing daily and I am sad to see him growing up so fast. He got his first two teeth at four months. Jason and I could not believe it. He is rolling over, talking a ton, and has recently found his tongue, which he can not keep in his mouth =) He has started showing signs of crawling as he lunged at the cat yesterday. He of course missed and face planted into the carpet. Jason and I know that it will only be a matter of time before our little man is crawling. We have started him on oatmeal cereal and he loves it =) We also started him on vegetables and so far he does not mind anything we have given him.
